need

Having a need for housing can mean a variety of things, but what it all boils down to is that you and your family are currently in a living situation that is either not safe or financially sustainable to your family. Examples of having a need for housing include, but are not limited to:

  • You currently live in substandard or overcrowded conditions.

  • Your housing cost exceeds 30% of your gross monthly income.

  • Your current housing does not meet the physical needs of the occupants (for instance if a member of your family is in a wheelchair and your current housing does not have wide enough doors).

  • You receive a form of subsidized housing.

  • You are unable to get a conventional loan for housing.
